Settled in Montréal since 2004, Jocelyne Meugnier  is a producer, an art director, the co-founder of the Dream Hunters and a talented costume designer. She invents and creates brightly colored characters brimming with life!

My adventure started in the Street Theatre milieu, when I was at the side of a highly-skilled, sensitive artist, a dreamer/poet who has made us all travel around this world and far beyond, a visionary troubadour who has left us way too soon: Julien Gabriel, also a co-founder of the Dream Hunters.

As a multidisciplinary artist for more than two decades, I have created and made all the characters presented on this website. So, in addition to writing the storylines, directing the scenography and staging, I conceive detailed characters and costumes, chiseled and finely designed like works of art. Then I partner with illustrators, creators, set design engineers or craftspeople, who take care of their lively appearance, their movable, subtly articulated aspect. I also create the dyes and varnishes of the characters’ wooden pieces, as well as the fabric dyes.

In my own way, my imagination feeds on nature’s poetry, beauty and strength to create sculptural characters who come alive thanks to the art of gigantic puppets and stilts.
